Conductor
A concert of songs celebrating the Earth is really a celebration of LIFE itself. Jim Scott’s songs are alive in their fire, their passion. Nick Page’s new piece, BEFORE MY ASHES, written in memory of departed singer Suzie Glantz, repeats the words “Life” with great urgency. The concert ends with the words “In a circle of friends”. All life is in that circle.
Mystic Chorale soars with inspiring melodies, defiant joy and urgency, on behalf of this Earth we call our home.
Jim Scott, the amazing jazz guitarist/composer whose brilliance was the highlight of three Paul Winter Consort albums, is our featured guest in “Earth Songs: Singing for Our Home.” Jonathan Singleton performs his magic on piano and Billy Novick on soprano saxophone.
The songs lift, inspire and challenge us. Jim, who marched and sang with Pete Seeger on many occasions during their forty-year friendship, leads the house in Seeger’s great anthem, “My Rainbow Race” and sings several of his own songs.
