Spring 2017

Earth Songs: Singing for Our Home

Led by Nick Page

This spring Mystic Chorale soars with inspiring melodies, defiant joy and urgency, on behalf of this Earth we call our home.

Jim Scott, the amazing jazz guitarist/composer whose brilliance was the highlight of three Paul Winter Consort albums, is our featured guest in “Earth Songs: Singing for Our Home.” Jonathan Singleton performs his magic on piano and Billy Novick on soprano saxophone.

The songs lift, inspire and challenge us. Jim, who marched and sang with Pete Seeger on many occasions during their forty-year friendship, leads the house in Seeger’s great anthem, “My Rainbow Race” and sings several of his own songs. The program also premieres four exciting pieces, including Nick Page’s most recent commissioned song of dedication to life and the responsibility of living with purpose.
