Concert: Tuesday November 30, 7:30 pm
Cary Hall, 1605 Mass Ave, Lexington
The Mystic Chorale performs TOGETHER, celebrating the chorus’ return to singing live on November 30th at 7:30 at Cary Hall in Lexington. Directed by Nick Page and featuring Donnell Patterson on piano, a smaller but stalwart chorus brings back some of the Mystic’s favorite songs of celebration, including the Miriam Makeba hit, Pata Pata, with returning guest Nthabi Thakadu. Exploring the diversity of choral music, Mystic sings Glory to God from Handel’s Messiah along with Nick Page’s arrangement of Joey Weisenberg’s Kol HaNeshama, and Nthabi leads the Gospel prayer I Need You to Survive. The chorus honors Ysaye Barnwell with her arrangements of Power! Lord! and Steal Away, which provide moments of singular might. The concert closes with Donnell’s soul-stirring arrangement of Every Day Is a Day of Thanksgiving, featuring returning soloist Louise Grasmere.
Come experience what Mystic Chorale does best… singing from the heart, singing as community, making the world a better place, one song at a time.
Note: Safety is Mystic’s first priority: Proof of vaccination required of all in attendance, along with spaced out seating and masks throughout the performance.
