Now, more than ever, we need our hearts to be open, open to receive and open to give. The Mystic Chorale’s fall theme LOVE, is not a trivial thing.  It is that first kiss, the first time a mother holds her child, the profound loss of someone we love, the full spectrum of emotions coming alive through song.

It will be the gentle caress of a Celtic ballad and the rock-out glory of the classic, “Why Do Fools Fall In Love?”  It will be a celebration for the young-at-heart from Katy Perry’s song “Firework” to an early love song by John Lennon and a rousing hit from the musical HAMILTON.   And it will be all-out fun; the women going crazy with Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” and the men tearing our hearts out with “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling.”

In addition to the rich solo opportunities, there will be a small auditioned chorus that will meet before rehearsals to learn James Taylor’s “Lonesome Road.”

We will have an ace band led by guitarist extraordinaire Gary Backstrom.  As is our custom, we will have our audiences on their feet dancing and singing along.

No concert CD will be produced from this season.  Many of the songs are under royalties.  We are purchasing permission to perform these songs, however the fees to sell CDs with these songs on them are prohibitively expensive.

There will be a Practice CD.
