The goal of the Small Chorus is to offer a greater challenge for those who welcome it. The small chorus for Fall 2018 will perform James Taylor’s “That Lonesome Road”.
Tuesday, Sept. 11th – auditions with Nick for the small chorus before and after rehearsal, in the sanctuary.
Additionally, singers may audition for the Small Chorus during other solo auditions on Sept. 25 and Oct. 2.
Singers must demonstrate good phrasing, vowels, intonation, and the ability to pick up the music quickly without the use of practice audios. Singers chosen may end up singing another voice part (i.e. an alto might be asked to sing soprano or tenor).
You are expected to be able to sing your entire part, while using the sheet music, by October 9th.
Tuesday Oct. 9th – Small chorus rehearsal from 7:00 – 7:15 in the Sanctuary, with Nick

Walk down that lonesome road all by yourself
Don’t turn your head back over your shoulder
And only stop to rest yourself when the silver moon
Is shining high above the trees
If I had stopped to listen once or twice
If I had closed my mouth and opened my eyes
If I had cooled my head and warmed my heart
I’d not be on this road tonight
Carry on
Never mind feeling sorry for yourself
It doesn’t save you from your troubled mind
Walk down that lonesome road all by yourself
Don’t turn your head back over your shoulder
And only stop to rest yourself when the silver moon
Is shining high above the trees
