I am thrilled that we will be culminating our 30th Anniversary with a trip to Scotland. I made my first visit there in 1978 and have been back several times. My favorite experiences have always been making music with the Scottish who have strong singing hearts. We’ll be performing a rich diversity of music from both the fall and spring seasons. We will share music from Gospel, Jewish, Sufi, Folk, South African, and Pop traditions. Included will be a song by an Edinburgh songwriter named Ali Burns, a distant relative of Robert Burns; and a song by India’s A. R. Rahman (gorgeous).
WHEN: August 9th-17th, 2020
TRAVEL: Round trip flights Boston-Scotland; Private motor coach locally in Scotland
ACCOMMODATIONS: Double occupancy hotel rooms
SUPPORT: Mystic Tour Coordinator; Full time Tour Manager throughout tour; Local Guides for sightseeing
WHERE: Edinburgh, Inverness, & Glasgow
Formal and informal opportunities to sing under Nick’s direction!
Performance at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh!
Concerts with local choirs in Inverness and Glasgow!
ACTIVITIES: (*details subject to change)
MEALS: Breakfast + one meal daily (lunch or dinner, including final evening farewell dinner celebration)
COST: $3200-$3600 range (pending final detailed arrangements & number of registered travelers)
PAYMENTS: $100 non-refundable deposit due October 1
Remaining payments will be made online to the tour company
WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Singers must participate in both the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 Seasons.
Earlier applications will be considered first; however registrations are at the discretion of the Director, with the goal of a balancing voice parts. For planning purposes, if space allows, spouse/guest should be listed with initial application if interested.
REHEARSALS: 3 required Tuesday rehearsals in summer 2020 (dates TBD)
TOUR COMPANY PRESENTATION: Tuesday, Oct. 1st @ 9:00 at First Parish in Arlington (at end of rehearsal)
