Mystic Chorale invites all who love to sing to experience the thrill of reuniting LIVE this fall, making music full of harmony and power!

Health & Safety: During these times of Covid, Mystic’s #1 priority is the health and safety of all. We are paying close attention to the latest guidance from the CDC and other sources regarding the spread of the virus and its variants and recommended safety precautions and are setting safety protocols above and beyond what the State of Massachusetts requires. Accordingly, all present at rehearsals will be required to show proof of full vaccination and wear masks. Singers will be seated at a safe distance from one another.   Click here to read more about our safety protocols.  As the season progresses, we will continue to follow CDC and State guidelines and the latest advice from choral singing experts regarding masking and other health protocols.

Our Music: This season will challenge singers to polish their good singing habits and embrace the discipline of singing beautifully and with compassion while singing safely. Founder and Artistic Director, Nick Page, has selected an eclectic repertoire of what he describes as “high octane music… music to charge the soul after a year away from live singing”, ranging from Ysaye Barnwell’s Power Lord and Steal Away to Mystic favorite Every Day is a Day of Thanksgiving to the life-affirming Gospel anthem I Need You to Survive. Nick has written a new four-part arrangement of Joey Weisenberg’s Kol Ha Neshamah with glorious harmonies and counterpoint and a challenging arrangement of Glory to God from Handel’s Messiah. The song Together, with its reggae-infused vibe, will celebrate the season’s theme.

The fabulous Nthabi Thakadu will return as guest artist, reprising the rousing South African Pata Pata, and the amazing Ruth Roper will return as rehearsal pianist.

For those who wish to participate from afar or who simply aren’t ready for live singing, there is the option to join as an “at-home” virtual singer this season. The rehearsals and concert will be livestreamed and recorded, and the recordings will be posted on the Mystic Chorale website a few days later.  All singers will receive PDF files of the music and access to the practice recordings.

Anyone who attends rehearsals who has symptoms or has been exposed to the virus must stay home. If singers need to miss a rehearsal, Sectionals will count toward Mystic’s attendance requirement. Anyone who misses three or more live rehearsals will need to audition privately with Nick over Zoom to be cleared to perform in the concert.

Mystic Chorale is committed to offering singers a full season. Should live singing become unsafe, Nick has exciting plans for an alternate online season of building community by fostering the abundant creativity within us – all safe and fun.

Join and experience the deep satisfaction of singing live AND singing safe, TOGETHER in a joyful celebration of reunion!
