Using Headphones or Ear Buds

Tech Tip: Using Headphones or Ear Buds

This week, try using ear buds or headphones – you’ll be amazed at the difference!

Everything will sound MUCH more clear and natural, almost like you really are in the same room with everyone!

Any headphones or earbuds that will plug into your computer, tablet or phone will do – the ones that came with your smart phone, the ones you got on an airplane, even the cheap-o ones you can find at the local drugstore checkout.

Try it this week & see if you don’t feel a little closer and more connected!

A couple of notes if this is new to you:

  • If you haven’t used ear buds with your computer or device before, you’ll need to find the small circular hole where you plug them in. Take a few moments to locate this before you sign in.
  • If your ear buds have a built-in mic (like the ones pictured here – see that little blue piece on the lower left side?), you may need to adjust your microphone up or down. Sign onto the Zoom call a little early and we can give you feedback to adjust your volume.
  • Some people find it helpful to use their ear buds or headphones in one ear only.  This way, you can hear the rehearsal through one ear, and hear yourself singing through the other ear.  Experiment to see what feels best to you!
