Mystic Chorale offers free workshops (e.g. vocal and memorization) during each concert season to signed-up singers. The content is generally specific to that season’s music. Singers will find information about these workshops on their season calendar.
The Mystic Chorale also periodically offers workshops open to the public. Emails will go out to all the members, and announcements will be posted on the website, so check back often!
After most seasons, singers can volunteer to perform selections from the most recent concert at select Senior Living and Senior Care centers in the Greater Boston area. Listen for announcements about the Senior Sings during rehearsals. Event coordinators at Senior Centers who would like us to sing for their group should email email@example.com.
Nick Page also leads Community Sings throughout the year featuring various genres of music. To receive notice of these events, simply join our mailing list.
Additional opportunities coming up:
Saturday evening, Oct. 28 2017, 9 Harrington Rd, Lexington, 5:30pm
We have the option of singing at First Parish Church UU in Lexington (9 Harrington Rd. The white church on the green). Note: We will not be performing as the Mystic Chorale. We will rehearse at the church at 5:30 pm. This event is organized by our slam poet friend Regie Gibson and will include a report on the restorative justice system (that got its start in Lexington). We will sing I SHALL BE RELEASED/THULA SIZWE, ONE FOOT/LEAD WITH LOVE, WHEN I’M GONE, THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND and CHARLIE ON THE M.T.A (one of the originators of the song will be there to tell it’s story).
Sunday evening, Nov. 5, 2017, 24 Vernon St., Framingham, Time: TBA
The event is a fund raiser for legal fees for immigrants’ rights. We will not be performing as the Mystic Chorale. Representatives from local synagogues and churches will speak, including the New Life Church (Brazilian) and St. Stephens Catholic Church (high immigrant congregation). We will sing two or three songs. (Possibly: I SHALL BE RELEASED/THULA SIZWE, PAZ Y LIBERTAD and either ONE FOOT/LEAD WITH LOVE or ROOM AT THE TABLE).
The Mystic Chorale has taken the joy of singing on tour to Ireland, Germany, Costa Rica, Quebec and New York City. To receive notice of upcoming tours, join our mailing list.
